Posting and Autopilot
Connect your social accounts
Connect the social accounts you post to, see how many your plan allows, and reconnect ones that expired.
Updated
To post or schedule clips from Reeltopus, connect your social accounts on the Connections page. You sign in on the platform's own page and approve access there. Reeltopus never sees your social media password.
Connect an account
- Open Connections at /app/connections.
- Under Add an account, press Connect on the platform you want, for example Connect YouTube.
- Sign in on the platform's page and allow everything it asks for. If you untick a permission Reeltopus needs to post, the connection is refused and you're asked to connect again.
- You land back on Connections with a note that the account is connected.
The Connections page lists the platforms your workspace can connect. A platform that isn't switched on yet shows as "coming soon". Some platforms connect through our posting partner; when they do, the card says so, and the partner's name appears on the sign-in screen. The partner posts only what you send from Reeltopus and loses access when you disconnect.
Platform notes:
- YouTube: the Google account needs a YouTube channel. See Posting to YouTube.
- Instagram: needs a professional (creator or business) account. See Posting to Instagram.
- TikTok: business accounts have their own Connect a business account link. See Posting to TikTok.
- LinkedIn: posts to your own profile and needs reconnecting every 60 days. See Posting to LinkedIn.
How many accounts you can connect
| Plan | Connected social accounts |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Creator | 3 |
| Pro | 10 |
| Agency | 30 |
The Connections page shows how many you're using. When they're all in use, a new account isn't connected. Disconnect one, or upgrade on the Billing page. Reconnecting an account that's already connected always works, even at the limit.
If you see "That account is already connected to another Reeltopus workspace", disconnect it in that workspace first, then connect it here.
Who can connect accounts
Only workspace owners and admins can connect or disconnect accounts. Editors can post to accounts that are already connected. See Teams and roles.
Reconnect an account
Platforms sometimes end a sign-in: you changed your password, removed the app's access, or the sign-in simply expired. When that happens, the account shows needs reconnecting on the Connections page. Press Reconnect next to it and sign in again. Your post history stays.
LinkedIn sign-ins last 60 days and can't be renewed automatically. A week before one ends, the account shows the date its sign-in ends, and the person who connected it gets a reminder email. Scheduled posts after that date only go out if you reconnect first.
Disconnect an account
Press Disconnect next to the account and confirm. Scheduled posts to that account are cancelled, and Reeltopus asks the platform to remove its access where the platform allows it.
Instagram doesn't let apps remove themselves. After you disconnect, also remove Reeltopus in Instagram under Settings, then Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
