Reeltopus plans include upload hours. Hours are spent on the length of the videos you process and on dubs. This article explains how they're counted, what rolls over and where to see your balance.
Hours per plan
| Plan | Upload hours a month |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 |
| Creator | 10 |
| Pro | 25 |
| Agency | 80 |
Prices and the full plan comparison are on the pricing page.
What uses hours
Processing a video. A video uses hours equal to its length. A 45-minute podcast uses 45 minutes. It's counted to the second.
Back-catalog videos. Tick Back-catalog video (counts at half rate) when you upload, and the video uses half its length. A one-hour video uses 30 minutes. YouTube links pasted in the app count at the standard rate.
Dubbing. A dub uses 10 minutes of hours for every minute of the clip as exported. A 30-second clip uses 5 minutes. The dub panel shows the exact amount before you start. See Dub a clip into another language.
What doesn't use hours
- Clips, edits, chat edits and transcript fixes
- Find a moment… searches
- Exports and downloads
- The sample project
Every plan includes unlimited clips, exports and re-runs.
How a charge works
- When an upload finishes, or an import starts, Reeltopus holds hours for the video's length. You need enough for the whole video, or the upload doesn't start.
- While the video processes, those hours show as In use by processing videos.
- When processing finishes, you're charged for the video's real length. It's never more than what was held. Anything left over goes back to your balance.
Failed videos are refunded
If a video fails to process, every hour it held goes back to your balance automatically. The same is true for a failed import or a failed dub. A video that's refused at upload, for example one with no audio track, isn't charged at all.
Monthly refill and rollover
Your plan's hours are added once a month. Unused hours roll over, but your balance never goes above twice your plan's monthly hours after a refill. On Creator, that cap is 20 hours. Anything above the cap is trimmed at the refill.
Hours held by a video that's still processing are never trimmed. If they come back after a refill, your balance can sit above the cap until the next one.
Where to see your balance
Your balance is in the app header, for example "8.5 h left · Creator". Click it to see:
- Available: hours you can spend now
- In use by processing videos: hours held right now (only shown when something is processing)
- Next refill: how many hours arrive and on what date
- Rollover cap: the most your balance can hold after a refill
Plan details and upgrades are on the Billing page.
Teams and agencies
Everyone in a workspace spends the same balance. On Agency, client workspaces spend the agency's hours. They don't get an allowance of their own.
Running low
If a video needs more hours than you have, the app says so before the upload starts: "This video needs 1.5 h and you have 0.8 h left." You can wait for your next refill, tick the back-catalog option if it fits, or upgrade on the Billing page.
