What size should a Reels, TikTok or Shorts cover be?+
1080 × 1920 pixels, the same 9:16 frame as the video. A YouTube thumbnail for a regular video is 1280 × 720 (16:9).
Why does my Reel cover look cut off on my profile?+
Instagram's profile grid shows only the middle 3:4 of a 9:16 cover (1080 × 1440 of the 1080 × 1920 frame). Keep the subject and any title inside the dashed box in the checker.
Is my image uploaded?+
No. The image is opened directly in your browser and is never sent to Reeltopus or anyone else.
Are these safe zones official?+
For YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels we use the safe zones Google and Meta publish for vertical ads. TikTok and LinkedIn don't publish pixel figures, so those are our conservative estimates. Always preview in the app before posting.
