Reeltopus vs Kapwing
Kapwing is a browser-based video editor built for teams, with subtitles, translation, dubbing and other AI tools. Its Repurpose Studio, also called the AI Clip Maker, suggests short clips from a long video that you can keep editing in the same workspace. Plans are billed per member, with monthly credits that the AI tools draw from: Repurpose Studio uses 2 credits per minute of video.
Reeltopus bills by upload hours, with unlimited clips, exports and re-runs. Every plan comes with a Fair Billing Promise that refunds failed jobs automatically, and clips post to every major platform in any language.
Reeltopus is in early access, so our column shows planned launch pricing and features. The Kapwing column shows only what Kapwing publishes on its own site, checked on 17 October 2026, with a link to each source. Where its pages don't say, or say different things, we mark it unclear instead of guessing.

Questions
Is Kapwing cheaper than Reeltopus?+
For clipping long videos, at list prices, Reeltopus works out cheaper per hour. Kapwing Pro is $24 a month ($16 yearly) per member for 1,000 credits, and Repurpose Studio uses 2 credits per minute, so that's at most about 8 hours of video if you spend the credits on nothing else. Reeltopus Creator is planned at $19 a month ($12 yearly) for 10 upload hours, with unlimited clips and re-runs. Kapwing's price also covers a full editor, subtitles, translation and dubbing.
Should I use Kapwing or Reeltopus?+
If your team edits many kinds of video together in the browser, Kapwing covers more of that work. If your main job is turning long videos into clips and posting them everywhere, Reeltopus does more of it for you. You can export a Reeltopus clip and finish it in any editor, Kapwing included.
Do both refund failed jobs?+
Yes. Kapwing gives credits back automatically when a tool fails, and Reeltopus refunds the hours of failed jobs automatically. They differ on subscriptions: Kapwing doesn't refund them once you upgrade, while Reeltopus refunds a first payment in full within 14 days.
Can I move from Kapwing to Reeltopus?+
Yes. Reeltopus works from your original long videos, so you can upload the same files and get new clips. There is nothing to migrate.
