How does it choose moments?+
It looks for sections a stranger could follow without context, that open with a hook (a claim, a question, the start of a story) and end on their payoff, at roughly 20 to 90 seconds of speech. It skips anything that refers back to earlier in the video or to something on screen.
Can it make things up?+
The excerpts can't be invented: we check every one against your transcript and drop any that don't match word for word. Titles and hooks are written by AI, so read them before you use them.
Why only 2,000 words?+
To keep the tool free and fast. A full episode is far longer, which is what Reeltopus is for: it reads the whole video, including who's speaking and when, and cuts the clips for you.
Does it give me timestamps?+
It shows how far into the transcript each moment starts and roughly how long it runs at a normal speaking pace. Search for the first words of the excerpt in your editor's transcript to jump straight to it.
What happens to my transcript?+
It's sent to our AI provider to find the moments and isn't stored by Reeltopus. Each person can run a few searches every few minutes.
