Use Reeltopus in ChatGPT
Reeltopus is an MCP server at https://reeltopus.com/api/mcp. ChatGPT connects to it by signing in to your Reeltopus account, then calls its tools when you ask: find your videos, read the ranked clips with their transcripts, change captions and trims, export MP4s and caption files, and schedule posts to the accounts you connected. Connect ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Reeltopus. Under Connection choose Public endpoint and paste
https://reeltopus.com/api/mcp; for authentication choose OAuth. - Confirm the warning, click Create as a plugin, then sign in to Reeltopus and pick the workspace and what ChatGPT may do.
- In a new chat, type
@and pick Reeltopus, then ask away.
Your ChatGPT workspace's policies decide whether custom MCP servers are allowed; an admin may need to turn them on.
Start a new video
Attach a video file to the chat and ask ChatGPT to clip it: Reeltopus fetches the file (up to 512 MB in ChatGPT) and starts processing. For a bigger file, ask for an upload link and upload it at reeltopus.com.

How do I use Reeltopus with ChatGPT?
On chatgpt.com/plugins, add a custom MCP server with the address https://reeltopus.com/api/mcp and OAuth, sign in to Reeltopus, then type @Reeltopus in a chat and ask it to clip a video, show clips, export or schedule them.
Can I attach a video in ChatGPT?
Yes. Attach the file and ask ChatGPT to clip it. Reeltopus fetches it, transcribes it and finds the best clips, which ChatGPT shows as playable cards when they are ready.
Do I need a Reeltopus account?
Yes. The free plan works. You sign in to Reeltopus when you connect, pick the workspace and choose what the assistant may do. Processing a video spends its length from your hours, exactly as an upload in the app does; exports and posts don't use hours.
Will the assistant post without asking?
No. Every tool that publishes or overwrites is marked that way, so the assistant asks you first. A connection can also be left without the permission to post, and you can disconnect it any time under Settings → API.
Does Reeltopus generate new video?
No. Reeltopus edits videos you provide: it finds the best moments, reframes them to 9:16, burns in captions of what is said and exports or posts them. It doesn't generate new footage, voices or images through the assistant.
